Desy Setiawati is new hotel manager at Mandapa, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve


Mandapa, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve announced the promotion of Desy Setiawati to the position of hotel manager.

Setiawati now leads the day-to-day operations of the ultra-luxury resort in Ubud, Bali, ensuring an elevated guest experience and upholding the exceptional service standards for which Mandapa is renowned.

She said of her recent promotion: “I am honoured to take on this new challenge and lead Mandapa into its next chapter. [The resort] has always been a place of extraordinary beauty and exceptional service, and I look forward to working closely with the team to continue delivering unforgettable experiences for our guests.”

An exceptional career

Prior to joining Mandapa, Setiawati held senior leadership roles at several prestigious luxury hotels. She served as director of sales at Bvlgari Resorts Bali, where she was recognized for her outstanding achievements in catering revenue and business growth. 

She also played a key role in the successful pre-opening of The St. Regis Bali Resort in 2008, contributing to its establishment as one of Bali’s top luxury resorts. Her wealth of experience across various luxury properties has equipped her with a deep understanding of the industry, allowing her to excel in both sales and operational management.

Setiawati’s journey with Mandapa began in 2022 when she was appointed as its director of sales and marketing. Through her leadership, the resort successfully navigated the post-pandemic period, implementing innovative strategies that revitalised the business and enhanced Mandapa’s standing in the ultra-luxury segment. 

In her new role as hotel manager, Setiawati will continue to drive operational excellence, focusing on personalised guest services, wellness programming, and the resort’s unique Balinese cultural offerings.
